Youseum
A collage experience of the Belvedere Art Museum in Vienna.
Intro
Youseum is a small game/installation that was created for the Belvedere & Subotron Playing Art Jam 2026. In this jam the goal was to utilise the assets of the Belvedere online collection. We decided to turn lots of old paintings into a collage character creator!
Players can use their phone to connect, create a collage character and then walk around in yet another collage of painterly locations.
This piece features some rather interesting yet simple backend! It consists of a Unity application, a Firebase realtime DB and a Netlify Web application. This allows the user to scan a QR Code in Unity, get directed to webpage where they can use their phone as a controller!
